About Coaching

What is Coaching?

Coaching is a collaborative, forward‑focused partnership that supports growth, clarity, and intentional change. Coaching assumes that clients are healthy, capable, and able to make their own decisions while navigating the natural emotions that arise from life and work.

Coaching is not psychotherapy, counseling, or medical treatment, and it does not focus on diagnosing or treating emotional or psychological disorders. While emotions may be explored, emotional healing is not the focus. Coaching is not a substitute for therapy or healthcare, though it can be used alongside therapeutic work when appropriate.

At its core, coaching provides something many people are craving: to be truly listened to. As a coach, I listen without judgment, ask powerful questions, and help you access insight, perspective, and solutions that already exist within you. Coaching is not about fixing or giving advice—it’s about strengthening the systems you already have so you can move forward with clarity and confidence.

Coaching vs Therapy

While coaching and therapy can both be supportive, they serve different purposes.

Therapy often focuses on healing past experiences, processing emotional pain, and addressing mental health concerns. Coaching is centered on the present and the future—where you are now, where you want to go, and how you want to get there.

Coaching supports individuals who are ready to grow, take responsibility for their choices, and engage in forward‑moving change. When therapeutic support is more appropriate, I believe in honoring that and supporting referrals when needed.

Why work with an ICF Trained Coach?

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) is the leading global organization that sets professional standards and ethical guidelines for coaching.

Working with an ICF‑trained coach means partnering with someone who is trained in evidence‑based coaching competencies, ethical practices, and a client‑led approach. ICF‑aligned coaching prioritizes confidentiality, deep listening, powerful questioning, and creating awareness—rather than advice‑giving or directive solutions.

My ICF‑accredited training ensures that our coaching work together is intentional, ethical, and centered on your goals, values, and growth.
